The ShowCases from Furniture-X
Scan a QR code and get all the key data at a glance—Polipol and nolte Küchen have already set out to make this vision a reality and have equipped their first pieces of furniture with a digital twin. At the IWOfurn Summit 2024, the showcases—an armchair from Polipol and a kitchen unit from nolte with integrated electronics—made their debut. We are pleased to make the recording available to you.
In the near future, every product will require a so-called data container—also known as a digital twin. Just in time for the summit, less than a year after the founding of Furniture-X, two digital twins were presented. The driving forces behind the showcase implementation were Anika Degenhard (DCC), Stefan Willms (Morphe), and Michael Kaluza (Integrated Worlds). These twins, which are modularly structured according to the DPP 4.0 framework of the Industrial Digital Twin Association (IDTA), are based on ECLASS attributes.
On stage at the IWOfurn Summit, Patrick Sönke and Stefan Wilms demonstrated how this innovation creates added value throughout the entire value chain. From the manufacturer to the retailer, all the way to the end customer and the recycling center, digital twins open up entirely new possibilities.
Experience how the digital twin works in practice and how the digital product passport and EUDR information are integrated into it:

What you see here is more than just a cutaway chair—it is a glimpse into its inner workings. Just as the cutaway chair provides insight into the physical product, the digital twin makes the relevant data, processes, and materials visible and usable on a role-based basis for Polipol.
For the Polipol Group, the digital twin is a strategic building block for the future: not only to be prepared for possible EU regulations, but above all to create concrete added value today.
Whether new services for end customers, more efficient processes, or innovative business models: we are already utilizing the potential of the digital twin to position ourselves for the future and remain competitive.”
