Furniture-X: Lighthouse Projects

The Lighthouse projects are a central component of the Furniture‑X initiative. In these projects, companies and organizations in the furniture industry work together on specific use cases involving digital twins, data standards, and the digital product passport. The aim is to develop practical solutions that can be used along the entire value chain and create a basis for interoperable data ecosystems.

The Lighthouse projects are divided into several levels:

  • Use cases: Here, industry participants work together on specific technical issues and new application scenarios. In these projects, technical details, data structures, and interfaces are coordinated so that the solutions work in existing system landscapes.

  • Integration projects: These projects lay the technical foundations and take standards into account.

  • Showcases: Using real-world examples, they demonstrate how digital twins and new data structures can already be put to practical use today.

This results in step-by-step, tried-and-tested solutions that can then be adopted by other companies in the industry.
